Absolutely delicious fish and chips..!!! We stopped on our way from Leeds to Dundee and it turned out to be a great experience. The place is neat and spacious inside, and they have a load of variety including pizzas, wraps and shawarmas. We’ll definitely use this as a resting stop on future trips. Dietary restrictions: They have halal food.

Fried haggis and chips with excellent service. Can't ask for much more than that.

Just had a large fish and chips super fresh not overbattered and soggy chips were almost gourmet like just fantastic my friend ordered the pizza again fresh toppings just the right balance very well done. Very reasonably priced with a pot of tea around 28 pounds which is an absolute bargain

The gentleman who waited on us was friendly and helpful. We had fish and chips several places across Europe and this was our favorite. Both the fish and chips were crisp, yet not greasy. So good!!!

Asked for fungi parmo and its supposed to come with chips extra chips and fish and chips we live 8 miles from town get home to no chips with the parmo extra chips barely any, fish and chips well hardly any chips tried ringing no answer will not use again we are locals as well.

We were looking for a sit in chippy on our holiday. Lovely clean restaurant, really friendly staff (singing his head off). The food was freshly cooked,huge portions and great value for money!! Top nosh!!

Absolutely amazing fish n chips! We were staying at the nearby Haven but really wanted proper fish n chips and Castlegate Chippy didn't fail to hit the spot. The fish was massive which is always a hit! Will defo come again if in the area.

Food: 4/10 Price: £ Delivery time: 6/10 This is my first time trying the takeaway since the new renovation. I had heard many people talking about the chicken parms so was looking forward to trying. I ordered easily online; an original chicken parm, deep fried jalapeños with cheese and pineapple rings with syrup, being quoted half an hour delivery time. My order arrived over an hour later. I ate the jalapeño poppers first, surprised to see there being lettuce in the box, which made the batter of the poppers extremely soggy. They were still nice tasting though. I was unfortunately not so impressed with the chicken parm. The white sauce was congealed and the cheese was a strange tasting cheddar. None of which really had any semblance of taste. It was extremely bland, offset with the odd cheese taste. The chips that came with the parm were even less pleasant; greasy, with a funky grease taste. The pineapple rings were alright, however again, not the best quality pineapple. I am honestly disappointed with what I had anticipated to be an enjoyable meal.

We were visiting Berwick for a few hours. We wanted some fish and chips, found this place. A nice old school chip shop with seats down the side. A huge portion, great chips, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Lovely fish with very crispy batter. All very good. If I was local I would happily use this place regularly.
